These engines are built-up very solid with a high level of craftsmanship and durability so they often outlast the rest of the usefulness of the car. It’s good for 500,000 kms if you change the oil every now and then. But most people are scared of the running costs, particularly the fuel consumption – but at 12L/100km it’s better than may SUV’s.
