Ahead of the Paris Motor Show, the 2012 Mercedes CLS has been unmasked thanks to these leaked brochure images. Also included are the latest spy photos taken yesterday at the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
As expected, the CLS features styling heavily influenced by the E-Class and Shooting Brake Concept. Notable details include flared wheel arches, a sloping roofline, LED fog lights, and optional LED headlights.
Inside, the cabin boasts leather upholstery, wood trim, bright metal accents, and a new steering wheel. The four seat layout carries over, but the rear seats have better bolstering.
Under the hood, engine options include a 250 CDI with 204 PS (150 kW / 201 hp), a 350 CDI with 265 PS (195 kW / 261 hp), a 3.5-liter V6 with 306 PS (225 kW / 301 hp), and a 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8 with 435 PS (320 kW / 429 hp). The CLS 63 AMG will use a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 with 544 PS (400 kW/ 536 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. All-wheel drive will be optional on the 350 CDI and 500, but we wouldn’t be surprised if availability was expanded to the 350 CGI.
Europeans sales are expected to begin in January 2011.

Power comes from a 4.2-liter V8 that produces 331 kW (444 hp / 450 PS) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed S tronic transmission which allows the 1,725 kilogram (3,803 pound) coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, before topping out at an electronically limited 250 km/h (155 mph). If that isn’t fast enough, Audi can remove the speed limiter to enable the car to hit 280 km/h (174 mph). Despite this immense performance, the RS5 only consumes 10.8 liters of petrol per 100 km (21.78 US mpg).
