2010 Mazda CX-9 Review
The 2010 Mazda CX-9 is a great crossover option if you are looking for functionality as well as excitement. The sporty performance, spacious third row seating, and high crash test scores make this a must see in the crossover sport utility arena.
New this year is a mild exterior fascia change in the front, rear ventilation controls, a revised information display with a rear view camera, and real time traffic functionality for the navigation system. The 2010 CX-9 is a large seven passenger crossover SUV that is available in front or all wheel drive. All trim levels are powered by a 3.7 liter V6 that produces 273 horsepower and 270 pound feet of torque. Mileage is rated at 16mpg city and 22mpg highway. A six speed automatic with manual shift control is the only transmission offered this year. Below is an overview of trim levels and specs.
Sport-Comes standard with three zone climate control, power locks, power windows, 18 inch alloy wheels, trip computer, Bluetooth, leather wrapped tilt and telescoping steering wheel, audio and cruise control on steering wheel, and a six speaker CD stereo system with auxiliary audio jack. Standard safety equipment includes stability control, ABS brakes with brake assist, rollover sensor, full length side curtain airbags, active head restraints, and front seat side airbags.
Touring-Adds leather interior, heated mirrors, and heated power front seats. All engine and standard safety equipment stay the same.
Grand Touring-Adds xenon headlights, fog lights, 20 inch alloy wheels, keyless ignition, keyless entry, rain sensing wipers, memory drivers seat settings, auto dimming rear view mirror, second row armrest, wood grain cabin accents, and blue cabin illumination.
Other notable options include a sunroof, navigation system with rear view camera, remote engine start, rear seat entertainment system, rear view camera, roof rails, and an upgraded Bose surround sound stereo with six disc CD changer.
In government crash testing the 2010 Mazda CX-9 scored a perfect five out of five stars for frontal and side crash protection. The insurance Institute For Highway Safety also awarded the CX-9 it’s highest rating of “Good” for both frontal offset and side impact crash-worthiness.
